Long-range angular coherence as orbiting phenomenon in dissipative collisions

چکیده
The angular cross correlation function is investigated for fluctuating cross sections in dissipative heavy ion colhslons. We consider the dissipative colhslon in the framework of formation and decay of the intermediate dlnuclear system while the elastic scattering phase shifts are given in terms of the deflection functmn q~ and its first derlvat~ve ~, both taken at the grazing angular momentum. Calculations m the orbiting regime (q~> 0.5 ) under the assumption that dissipative collismns are peripheral show the appearance of long-range quasxperlodlc correlations in the angular cross correlation function with the period ~. This allows us to explain the anomalously large coherent angles observed experimentally

Dissipative orbiting in 209Bi+136Xe collisions at Elab/A=28 MeV.
Massive, projectilelike fragments (PLF) from the ~o9Bi + '3"Xe reaction at E~,b/A = 28 MeV were measured in coincidence with lighter charged products and neutrons, detected with 4~ angular coverage. Strong correlations are observed between the deflection angle of the massive fragment, on the one hand, and various experimental measures of energy dissipation, on the other hand. These correlations...
متن کاملOff-diagonal long-range order coherence, quantum chaos and nonself-averaging of the excitation function oscillations in dissipative heavy-ion collisions
We support a recent suggestion that the exit microchannel correlation in dissipative heavy-ion collisions indicates the off-diagonal long-range order coherence and quantum chaos. Such a correlation is revealed in the nonselfaveraging of the excitation function oscillations observed in dissipative heavy-ion collisions. We present the results of an analysis of the data to demonstrate this correla...
متن کاملDynamics of nonlinear rectangular plates subjected to an orbiting mass based on shear deformation plate theory
In this paper, transverse and longitudinal vibration of nonlinear plate under exciting of orbiting mass is considered based on first-order shear deformation theory. The nonlinear governing equation of motion are discretized by the finite element method in combination with Newmark’s time integration scheme under von Karman strain-displacement assumptions. For validation of method and formulation...
متن کاملS-matrix spin and parity decoherence and damping of coherent nuclear rotation: quantum chaos in dissipative heavy-ion collisions?
We extend the statistical reaction with memory approach to study off-diagonal spin and parity S-matrix energy autocorrelation in dissipative heavy-ion collisions. It is suggested that S-matrix spin and parity decoherence results in (i) damping of the coherent nuclear rotation and (ii) is a manifestation of quantum chaos in dissipative heavy-ion collisions.

Excitation functions for the strongly dissipative collision 19F (Elab = 135 − 140 MeV)+89Y with an energy step of 250 keV in the lab. system have been measured. The data are consistent with previous measurements and exhibit oscillations, which are interpreted as an indication of quantum chaotic phenomena in dissipative heavy-ion collisions. The Fourier component of the energy autocorrelation of...
